Classes

Dance education is like building blocks. During each level of dance instruction, specific techniques are taught and in order to progress to the next level, those techniques must be mastered. If you build a tower from blocks, the base must be strong to support the building. This is the same for dance. A student may be in a level for 1-3 years depending on their individual ability. It`s important to have that solid dance foundation before moving to the next level, just like our tower example. Our instructors have many years of training and are experienced when determining a students class placement.

Class Placement:
Class placement is determined by our qualified dance instructors. Students may be asked to attend an evaluation class to determine proper placement in our program. The student`s age, experience and ability will be considered when determining proper placement. Where there is any doubt, a student may be placed in a lower level so that they may be advanced rather than moved back. Twice a year, our instructors evaluate each student`s ability and progress and offer class suggestions to further enhance the students dance education. Our instructors are happy to meet with the student and/or parent to discuss these evaluations.

Attendance and Make-ups:
We encourage regular and consistent class participation in order for our students to progress. Students are expected to attend every class in the level they are assigned and to arrive on time. Due to the importance of the initial warm-up exercises, students entering class late for any reason may be asked to observe. If a class must be missed, please see the reception desk to receive a make-up pass. One make-up class is allowed per quarter or session. The make-up class must be in the same form of dance and a comparable level or lower as the class that was missed. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed classes.
