Dress Code

Academy Dress Code:
Proper dance attire is required at our academy. Dance is about fun and discipline. One part of the discipline of dance is to be properly attired to participate in class. Dressed appropriately the instructor can see the students body lines, body placement and posture and make the necessary corrections to the students form and technique. Girls must have their hair in a bun for ballet and pulled off their face in a ponytail for all other classes. Please see below for specific class attire. We also ask that all students wear warm-ups coming to and from the academy.

Gold Star Academy of Dance offers the largest selection of leotards, tights and dance shoes in Kendall County. We carry value priced dance wear items as well as name brands such as Leo`s, Bodywrappers, Capezio and Bloch. If you don`t find what you are looking for, we will be happy to order something for you from one of our many catalogs.

Tap (Beginners and Level I):

Tap (Level II - IV):

Shoes: Black Jazz Taps
Other:Jazz pant or short be worn

Hip Hop (Level I - IV):

Leotard: Solid color or camisole shirt

Acting Classes:

Clothes: White tight shirt (tucked in) and Black Jazz pants (no sweat pants!)
