Performance Company Auditions 2010

Performance Company Workshop: Sunday, August 8 
                                                              9:00 - 11:00 AM
                                                              $25.00 

The following should sign up for the workshop:
Anyone auditioning ages 7 - 12 for Company for the first time
Company members re-auditioning for Performance Company ages 7 - 9
Dancers will work on the skills that they will need for Performance Company
Combinations for audition groups ages 7 - 12 will be taught
Call the reception desk to sign up by August 7, 2010

Performance Company Auditions: Monday, August 9
                                                             Ages 7 -9       9:00 - 10:15 AM
                                                             Ages 10 - 12 10:30 - 12:00 PM                                                                Ages 13 &Up 12:15 - 2:00 PM

                                                             New and Returning Dancers

All age groups will be asked to perform a ballet, jazz and Hip Hop combination
Tap dancers will perform a tap combination
Please audition in the group which is your age as of January 1, 2011
Please arrive 15 minutes before your audition time
One parent or guardian must accompany dancer to audition
Dancer should bring a wallet size photo to auditions
What to wear:
Girls should be dressed in a black leotard, pink or tan tights with hair in a bun.
Boys should be dressed in White T-shirt and black dance pants.
Bring all needed dance shoes. No one can dance in bare feet.
Dancers will be selected for Company based on:
Stage Presence
Attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to learn choreography in a timely matter
Age
Re - auditioning members will also be judged on their attitude and attendance through out the past year and their willingness to work within the Company.

Please note that the performance company is an advanced program for the serious dancer.
It is steps up from just taking classes. It does take serious commitment, time and focus from both the dancer and parents.

Gold Star Academy of Dance

NEW - Hip Hop Only Company Auditions: Sunday, August 8, 10
           Ages 7 – 9            12:00 – 1:00 PM
           Ages 10 and up    1:00 – 2:00 PM

* Please audition in the group which is your age as of January 1, 2011
* Please arrive 15 minutes before your audition time
* One parent or guardian must accompany dancer to audition

Dancers will be selected for Company based on:
Stage Presence
Attitude and Willingness to Learn
Ability to Learn Choreography in a Timely Matter

Requirements:
1 Hip Hop Class per week
1 Jazz Class per week
1 Company rehearsal per week held on Monday or Friday Nights
Competitions per year: 5 plus nationals
Conventions: 1
Dance Intensive – Wednesday, August 11 from 9 AM – 2 PM
There are no exceptions to class requirements. 

Classes must be taken at Gold Star Academy of Dance.

Fees:
Price of your two dance classes per 4 -10 week quarters and summer (August – summer)
Co. Monthly fees for August-June ($26 per dance)
Dance Intensive ($60)

Company Competitions are January - July ($35 per dance per competition)                                                                
Company Convention ($200 per convention)
Hip Hop Costume (Up to $100)
Shoes (Up to $80)
Make up and Accessories for girls (Up to $80)
Company Warm Up Package ($200) Full package does not need to be replaced every year.
National Fees - This varies depending on where nationals are held and the number of dances your child is in.
Travel Expenses -This also varies depending on where nationals are held.
Company fees and classes are combined into one monthly company payment.  More information is provided at the parents meeting. If you are accepted in Vivid, one parent must attend the parent meeting on Tuesday, August 10 at 6 PM.

Company Intensive: Tuesday - Friday, August 10 - 13, 2010

All Company members will be required to attend the Company intensive.
Please plan accordingly. During the intensive, Company will work on technique and combinations for new Company dances with a variety of highly trained instructors. Co. Intensive will be the week of August 10 - 13, 10 during the day. (8:30 - 1ish) Your intensive fee will be due on August 9. Specific information will be given at auditions.

Starlet Pre Performance Company

Starlet Company is for dancers that are 5 - 7 years old. There are two levels in Starlets (Tiny and Mini) Specific information will be available in August. If you would like more information, please stop by or call the reception desk to be put on the mailing list.
